Beyoncé released “Renaissance, her seventh solo album,” on Thursday night as per the schedule. She utilized the event to call out those who leaked her album two days earlier. She was also grateful to her fans who patiently waited for the official release.

“So, the album leaked, and you all actually waited until the proper release time so you all can enjoy it together. I’ve never seen anything like it. I can’t thank y’all enough for your love and protection. I appreciate you for calling out anyone that was trying to sneak into the club early. It means the world to me.”

Her words of gratitude crafted a soft corner in her fans’ hearts. As for the album, Variety will give away the album’s review in the coming days. According to the singer, the album is a part of a “three-part project.”

This time, Beyoncé unusually avoided releasing complete videos from the album. Instead, she provoked listeners’ interest with a few brief teasers. However, she dropped “Break My Soul,” her first single, over a month ago. Late last month, Beyoncé surprise-dropped “Break My Soul,” the first single from the album. The track channels house music beats from the 90’s over a sample of “Show Me, Love,” a 1993 hit by Robin S. The track features vocals from Big Freedia. We can look at “Renaissance” as a combination of country-leaning and dance tracks. However, it is unclear whether the country tracks will hit the market as a separate album or as a part of “Renaissance’s” first edition.

Beyoncé shared the artwork for her album cover. The cover shows her regally posing atop the silhouette of a luminous horse.

In the accompanying note, she writes: “Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world. It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving.”

“My intention was to create a safe place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom,” she further writes. “It was a beautiful journey of exploration. I hope you find joy in this music. I hope it inspires you to release the wiggle. Ha! And to feel as unique, strong, and sexy as you are.”

Beyoncé released four albums since her “Lemonade” in 2016. However, they were not a full studio solo album like “Renaissance.”
