Although the Star Wars franchise didn’t go for a significant presence at Comic-Con, the Lucasfilm Publishing panel surely became a welcome treat. The Lucasfilm Publishing panel showcases a display featuring various costumes used in Star War’s Disney+ series.
The impressive Star Wars display includes Hayden Christensen’s Darth Vader suit from Obi-Wan Kenobi. Armors from the Mandalorian were also there that Boba Fett, Din Djarin, and Bo-Katan Kryze don in the series.
The costumes from the upcoming Andor series were particularly in focus alongside the familiar ones from the past Disney+ series. The display includes Mon Mothma’s and Cassian Andor’s costumes that Diego Luna and Genevieve O’Reilly wear in the Andor series. The plaques attached to the costume also give sneak peeks into the plot points of the upcoming series.
Mon Mothma’s plaque reads, “The Imperial senator from Chandrila, Mon Mothma carefully navigates the dangerous shadows of Coruscant politics in her efforts to build a rebellion.” While Cassian’s plaque says, “As part of his entry into the growing rebellion, Cassian Andor must undertake a dangerous mission on Aldhani.”
Star Wars series are known for their new loyal droid characters. It’s evident from the display that Andor also does not come without one. The display sports a scrap-collecting droid, B2EMO. Apparently, the droid has been loyally serving the Andor family for years.
The Star Wars franchise initially announced the Andor series in 2018. It will follow Andor, the rebel spy, leading up to the Rogue’s events. The timeline where the Death Star plans are stolen. We also expect to see some previously cut characters in the series.
The brief but thrilling insights in SSDC 2022 make us all eager for 31st August 2022. This is the date when Andor is all set to debut on Disney+ with its first two episodes.
