A director has supposedly been hired for Venom 3. According to Deadline, the third installment will be directed by Kelly Marcel, who also wrote and produced the first two Venom movies. A story that Marcel co-wrote with the film’s lead, Tom Hardy, will serve as the basis for the screenplay. Additionally, Venom 3 will be produced by Marcel and Hardy.
Before penning the script for Venom in 2018, Marcel created the screenplay for Fifty Shades of Grey and the Disney film Saving Mr. Banks. Additionally, Marcel created the script for the planned 2022 TV series The Changeling as well as the Disney 2021 live-action Cruella movie.
The first Venom was directed by Ruben Fleischer, while Venom 2 was under the direction of Andy Serkis. Since the beginning, Marcel has been a member of the artistic group.
Story details for Venom 3 are currently under wraps. Hardy will reprise his role as Eddie Brock/Venom. However, it’s still being determined who else will join the cast or what other characters might make an appearance.
Venom from 2018 made over $850 million at the box office, while Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage from 2021 made over $500 million while the pandemic continued. In the follow-up, Woody Harrelson played Carnage, the bad guy. The two movies have brought in more than $1.3 billion worldwide.
When Venom 3 will begin filming and when it will be released are both unknown at this time. Venom is a member of the Marvel cast featured in Sony’s Spider-Man series. Madame Web and El Muerto, two Marvel characters, are also the subject of films being made by Sony.
