As of now, Kevin Spacey is facing a total of 12 sexual offense charges in the United Kingdom, with another seven on the way.

U.S.-born actor Kevin Spacey Fowler KBE was born on July 26, 1959. He started out in the 1980s as a stage actor, playing supporting roles before becoming a household name in movies and television. Two Oscars, a Tony award, two Laurence Oliviers, and four Television Actors Guild Awards are just a few of the many accolades that Spacey has garnered for his work on stage and screen. In addition to the twelve Primetime Emmy Award nods, he was also nominated for a Grammy. In 1999, Spacey was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star. Between 2010 and 2015, he was also honored with the titles of Commander and Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire for his contributions to the arts.

However, all his contributions to the industry Are now tainted with the dozen sexual offense charges. The Crown Prosecution Service has reportedly added three counts of indecent assault, three counts of sexual assault, and one offense of inducing a person to engage in sexual conduct without consent to the actor’s list of charges. The actor has been charged with five counts, and his trial is set to begin in 2023.

CPS Special Crime Division head Rosemary Ainslie made the following statement.

“The CPS has authorised additional criminal charges against Kevin Spacey, 63, for a number of sexual assaults against one man between 2001 and 2004,”

He further said:

“The CPS has also authorised one charge of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent. The authority to charge follows a review of the evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police in its investigation.”

At a hearing in London’s Old Bailey in July, Spacey formally entered a not-guilty plea to five counts of sexual assault brought against him in the United Kingdom. The presiding Justice, Mark Wall, scheduled the trial, which will take place at either the Southwark Crown Court or the Old Bailey in London, on June 6, 2023. Until then, Spacey will be able to travel in and out of the country thanks to his unconditional bail.

The fresh allegations come only a few short weeks after a New York jury acquitted Spacey of all charges in a civil trial for sexual assault brought by actor Anthony Rapp. Rapp claimed that Spacey molested him when the two were 14 and performing in a Broadway play together in the 1980s.
