Production on Twin Flames, a cult drama from the creators of This Is Us, has begun, and Mandy Moore has been cast in a lead role. Moore’s role as Rebecca Pearson on the NBC drama This Is Us garnered widespread acclaim and multiple awards throughout the course of the show’s six seasons. More than any other actor, Moore had to fully inhabit her character as she aged and went through major life transitions. Moore’s portrayal ensured that Rebecca would always feel like a part of the audience. She eventually became the show’s beating heart. The Emmy-nominated actor is taking on a new role in a totally different genre.

According to Deadline, Moore will star and executive produce Twin Flames, marking her first TV appearance since This Is Us. It is the true story of two ladies who fall for an internet pair preaching that everyone has a soulmate. They call the soul mates “twin flame,” based on the popular Wondery podcast of the same name. The two people who met online said a person needs to be willing to “do whatever it takes” to find their love. Unfortunately, these two women are so desperate for love that they put themselves in increasingly perilous circumstances. Moore will be teaming with This Is Us producers and showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger for the Hulu drama penned by Rebecca Addelman.

The Next Projects for The This Is Us Cast:

Not only has Moore found her next TV role, but so has everyone else. On ABC’s new crime drama, The Company You Keep, Milo Ventimiglia, who played Jack, will take center stage. His character is a con artist who falls for a CIA agent. Also, he’ll be back for season five of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Chrissy Metz (Kate) has joined the cast of the upcoming detective drama Help Me, Rhonda. CBS’s The Never Game will star Justin Hartley (as Kevin Pearson). Finally, Susan Kelechi Watson (Beth Pearson) made her U.K. theatrical debut as part of the cast of Eureka Day.

Known for his role as Randall Pearson, Sterling K. Brown has been related to several films. Specifically, he will be featured in the upcoming Washington Black miniseries. His recent performance in Honk For Jesus, Save Your Soul has also earned him a lot of praise. In addition, lyric Ross, who played Deja, Randall and Beth’s adopted daughter, recently had a voice role in Wendell & Wild. The Marvel Cinematic Universe will also welcome her to the cast of Ironheart.

The enduring success of This Is Us can be attributed in no small part to the chemistry and chemistry of its central cast members. The cast and crew of This Is Us won two Screen Actors Guild awards for best drama ensemble. It’s hardly surprising, however, that many of the show’s actors have already begun filming new roles soon after bidding goodbye to the Pearsons. It will be fascinating to observe their future endeavors, especially Moore’s cult drama Twin Flames. It’s safe to assume this will be a very different part for Moore than Rebecca was on This Is Us, giving her plenty of room to flex her acting chops.
