Millie Bobby Brown, speaking ahead of the Enola Holmes 2 release, expressed the desire for a third installment in the series to introduce cases that would test the limitations of the title character. In Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of Nancy Springer’s novels, Brown will reprise her role as Sherlock Holmes’s younger sibling. Starring Henry Cavill, Adeel Akhtar, Louis Partridge, Susan Wokoma, and Helena Bonham Carter once again, Enola Holmes 2 is set to premiere on Netflix on November 4.

The second installment of Brown’s Enola Holmes series will premiere on Netflix in September 2022, a little over two years after the first film launched in September 2020. The disappearance of Enola’s mother, Eudoria (Carter), and the attempted murder of Partridge’s young Viscount Tewkesbury have inspired Enola to pursue a career in investigative work. The sequel promises to see the teenage investigator continue to help the people of London while finding her allies, even joining up with Cavill’s Sherlock Holmes when their current investigations get entwined. With all the positive feedback, the movie’s main lady has high expectations for where Enola’s story will go from here.

In an exclusive conversation with Screen Rant before the release of Enola Holmes 2, Brown discusses her ambitions for her character in the event of a third film. Brown says she wants Enola’s later instances to test her in new and meaningful ways. Take a look at Brown’s complete response here:

Yes, absolutely. I would love to be a part of another one. I would love to see her do more cases, be put under pressure, be put in crazy situations, make her feel vulnerable again. I absolutely love seeing her back at work.

Prior to the release of the first film, Brown had indicated an interest in extending Enola’s story, saying that she not only thought there was more to her character’s journey but also loved working on the project with Bradbeer. Netflix users immediately flocked to watch Enola Holmes after its debut. The film was well-received by critics and had Netflix’s biggest opening day of 2020, drawing in 78 million people on its first day to place it at number seven on Netflix’s list of all-time highest-viewed original movies. Brown put money into continuing Enola Holmes since it was well-received by audiences. Early praise for Enola Holmes 2 suggests Netflix will continue the series, adapting more of Springer’s novels and turning it into one of the streaming service’s most lucrative franchises. Assuming the second film likewise does well at the box office.

Enola Holmes immediately became recognized as a refreshing take on the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle canon, giving new life to characters that have had a profound impact on popular culture. Brown’s energetic performance as Enola was a major factor in the film’s success since it immediately won over moviegoers and made them care about her first investigation. In addition, Brown’s eagerness to investigate possible futures for her character reassures fans that they will see more Enola Holmes features on Netflix.
