Rachel Brosnahan’s heartfelt goodbye to Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

In a touching farewell message, Rachel Brosnahan, who plays the title role in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, says goodbye to her fans and the show’s audience. Written by Gilmore Girls’ Amy Sherman-Palladino, the drama stars Rachel Brosnahan as Midge Maisel, a 1950s New York City housewife. She decides to become a stand-up comic after her husband, Joel (Michael Zegen), leaves her. The series made a huge success after its premiere on Amazon in 2017. The show stars Tony Shalhoub, Marin Hinkle, and Alex Borstein as Midge’s feisty manager Susie Myerson.

Season 4 of Marvelous Mrs. Maisel finally debuted on Amazon earlier this year. Midge’s struggle to rebuild her career after being fired from Shy Baldwin’s tour, her budding romance with Lenny Bruce (Luke Kirby), and Susie’s expansion of her management firm are at the heart of the latest episode of the Emmy-winning comedy show. However, Amazon made the surprising announcement to wrap up the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel after season 5, shortly before the premiere of season 4.

As of right now, information about what will happen in season 5 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has been kept under wraps. However, Brosnahan has confirmed the end of filming for the fifth and final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Instagram, where she also posted a touching farewell message. Read her homage post down below:

“This thing was lightning in a bottle. A cast, a crew, and creators who got to time travel for 5 years together. It changed my life. I’m eternally grateful.”

There will be no more seasons of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Still, Sherman-Palladino is expected to work on a fitting conclusion for the show. Talk show host Gordon Ford (Reid Scott), Handsome Man (Milo Ventimiglia), and Rose’s rival matchmaker Benedetta (also from Season 4) are all confirmed to return for the finale (Kelly Bishop). The real-life figure, Lenny Bruce, played by Kirby, is also scheduled to make a comeback. It has been widely assumed ever since season 1, when Lenny first appeared, that the show would eventually address the tragic 1966 death of the well-known comic. It is yet unknown if the series will include a time jump to incorporate the effects of Lenny’s death on Midge.

The conclusion of season 4 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel left a lot of questions for the series finale. Sherman-Palladino has said that the closing scene of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has been written for a while, so viewers will have to wait to find out how Midge’s television career, which includes her aspiration to become a late-night talk show presenter, concludes. The last season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has wrapped production, so we can probably expect it to premiere on Prime Video in 2023.
