Marvel and Star Wars have announced Star Wars: Revelations. This new one-shot comic will give glimpses into the future of the galaxy. Most of Marvel’s Star Wars titles take place between The Return of the Jedi and Empire Strikes Back. However, this comic will give a glimpse into what is to come in 2023 and beyond. Starring Darth Vader, and his fateful return to the World of Mustafar, the Dark Lord will get key insights from one of the most mysterious entities in the galaxy.

Marvel’s primary Star Wars series from Ramon Rosanas and Charles Soule show that the Rebellion is recovering from the Battle of Hoth. Their fleet was scattered across the galaxy due to the Empire’s constant pursuit. Crimson Dawn, a crime syndicate resurrected in the galaxy, has also been seen. The new Dawn, led by Lady Qi’ra, Darth Maul’s successor, has sought to eliminate the Sith Lords from the Empire’s control. The same goes for series like Bounty Hunters and Doctor Aphra. Han Solo & Chewbacca, the main outliers, occur after Solo: A Star Wars Story & A New Hope. In fact, the timeline sets after any of Marvel’s High Republic comics which shows the event from centuries before the Skywalker saga.

StarWars.com has revealed that Marvel will publish a Star Wars one-shot called Revelations. Revelations, written by Marc Guggenheim, and featuring an all-star cast of artists like Paco Medina and Salvador Larroca, among others, promises to give a glimpse of 2023’s future. It features Darth Vader’s return to Mustafar and a reunion with the creature called the Eye of Webbish Bog. Seemingly, the mysterious Force being has some secrets about what’s next.

This issue may have some similarities with Timeless #1. It was a one-shot featuring Kang the Conqueror at 2021’s end that teased vital elements about the future of the Marvel Universe in 2022. Fans can expect teases about the Star Wars core series that will take place in the original trilogy’s timeline. Guggenheim made it clear that the issue would be more than a preview.

The upcoming one-shot will not be the first time Darth Vader has met the Eye of Webbish Bog. Greg Pak and Rafaele Ienco have shown the encounter in past Darth Vader issues. We have seen the Eye guide the Dark Lord to Wayfinder, which took him to Exegol, Palpatine’s secret world. This scene was not deleted. It will be thrilling to see what Star Wars fans and Darth Vader will discover in the November issue.
