As Lightyear is set to take off towards box office success on June 17, it’s worth asking if Chris Evans will be as associated with the Pixar icon as Captain America. Because Steve Rogers gave the Captain America title to Sam Wilson, Evans’ reign is now over. Lightyear is focused on the future and beyond.
Fans are giving their opinion to get a feel for Evans’ filmography. For better insight, we highlight a high-profile MCU lineup balanced with his independent movies that showcase Evans’ convincing acting skills.

- Avengers: Infinity Wars
Year: 2018
Director: Russo Brothers
IMDB rating: 8.4
This could be grouped with Endgame to make it a one-off performance. Infinity War is the first act of Evans’ final trials as Steve Rogers. It culminates in one last leaderly effort and crystallizes in the ultimate moment in character affirmation and worth, Rogers’ using the Mjolnir. It gives us goosebumps just by thinking about it. Have you also seen his beard and hair in this movie?

- Avengers: End Game
Year: 2019
Director: Russo Brothers
IMDB rating: 8.4
Iron Man will always be the heart of the franchise’s arc reactor, but Evans’ Captain America is, without doubt, the soul of this property. He was the team’s moral compass and the de facto leader throughout the run. We are not sure anyone will attempt to play the comic role of Steve Rogers again. However, we love the spoof Captain Americas from the show like The Boys.

- Captain America: Civil War
Year: 2016
Director: Russo Brothers
IMDB rating: 7.8
His own franchise, which we consider the best Marvel franchise (even Iron Man), Evans’ Captain America, is nothing short of extraordinary action and unexpected emotional drama. Evans is particularly impressive, opposite Downey Jr. in Civil War. The movie plot shows the lowest and most broken time for the Avengers team.

- The Avengers
Year: 2012
Director: Joss Whedon
IMDB rating: 8
The Avengers’ first installment felt more like The Robert Downey Jr. Show. As his young second, Evans seemed to be poised to take over as the leader and franchise soul. Although there would be internal conflict and strife, the first Avengers film is one of the most cohesive and tightly-knit ensemble comic films ever made.

- Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Year: 2014
Director: Russo Brothers
IMDB rating: 7.8
His relationship with Bucky Barnes is at the core of Steve Rogers’ adventures as Captain America. This friendship is the foundation of the franchise. However, the split between the men leads to most of Rogers’ internal conflict and questions about his resolve. The Winter Soldier introduces the breach and offers fans perhaps the most impressive fight choreography in any Marvel film.

- Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
Year: 2010
Director: Edgar Wright
IMDB: 7.5
We knew that Evans could be a full-fledged sociopath in The Gray Man. But It is something we’d seen before. Evans plays one of the evil exes in the film. We love Evans, even when he acts evil, but all in a good way. A controversial opinion is that Scott Pilgrim may be Evans’ greatest comic book movie.

- Sunshine
Year: 2007
Director: Danny Boyle
IMDB rating: 7.2
Although Evans is not playing the lead role in Danny Boyle’s Earth-saving sci-fi adventure, he rounds out an impressive cast that includes Rose Byrne and Cillian Murphy. It was one of the first ensemble high-concept films that we saw Evans in–a planetary avenger before The Avengers. It is still one of his finest films.

- Gifted
Year: 2017
Director: Marc Webb
IMDB rating: 7.6,
Gifted is the only movie in this list in which Evans does not play a role in existential danger or high school (almost the same thing). Instead, he plays the role of the guardian of a child prodigy. It is a quieter character, and we love the soft performance. (Evans will perform a similar role as a guardian in Defending Jacob, another great role).

- Snowpiercer
Year: 2013
Director: Bong Joon Ho
IMDB rate: 7.1
While he was still in the mid of his Captain America hustle-bustle, Evans signed up with future Oscar-winning director Bong Joon Ho (for Parasite). The movie is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller. It is possibly the most memorable Chris Evans role and one of his finest films. We hope Evans will continue to work on smaller projects. The same goes for R-rated movies.

- The Ice Man
Year: 2012
Director: Ariel Vromen
IMDB rating: 6.8
the movie is a biography of Richard Kuklinski. He is a notorious contract killer and family man. His wife and daughters didn’t know his true profession when he was finally caught in 1986. Evans plays a contract killer and Kuklinski’s mentor in the movie.
